Livelihoods and Community Development

We help community members take action to improve their lives through small-scale community development projects. Recognizing that collective action is more powerful than the actions of individuals, these activities are carried out by self-help groups with assistance from a project support committee. Community development activities address the needs that local people see in their community, rather than being dictated by outside organizations. These activities have included projects related to health & sanitation, seedling plantation, building community learning centres, maintaining footpaths, and supporting local schools.
